An antivirus is essential
An   antivirus  has become the important software for a computer second just to the os itself. I cannot stress enough the necessity for every computer irrespective of being linked to the internet or otherwise to have antivirus installed and activated. People imagine that when they will not connect with cyberspace they don't need an antivirus or that inside a private secure corporate network they would not want one. There are other ways for a virus gain access to your computer besides the internet. A flash drive or even a program installed can introduce a virus to your pc. It is therefore a myth that you just would not need an antivirus.

Another common mistake that consumers make
is often to not update their antivirus regularly. Most antivirus companies have realized this and thus programmed it to automatically update. In case you have a firewall or some other program blocking the antivirus from updating it defeats the reason. Quite a few users also stop this program from updating to free up bandwidth. An antivirus that is not updated is really as good as no antivirus whatsoever. Precisely why I say this is due to every day you can find somebody somewhere creating a new malicious code just for fun or to cause major damage. If the database is simply not updated to tackle these new viruses they will pass as a harmless program and wreak havoc on your personal machine.

You can also find many people who believe more is more preferable. They install more than one antivirus software on their computer. This is definitely not suggested because each one of the antivirus software would conflict with the other by leaving a loophole for viruses to take advantage of. There could also be instances when one antivirus views the files essential for other as a malicious code and delete them rendering another antivirus useless.

There are plenty of antiviruses you can purchase and most new computers have an antivirus software pre-installed into it as a free trial. And after that you would need to renew your subscription or run a version of the software that is certainly basic and has less features. Anti-viruses will not be expensive whatsoever you could get a license key for few dollars and you would receive functions unavailable on the trial versions.

But when you would like to not to spend on an antivirus program there are many free antivirus programs about which are effective against virus too.
So remember protect
your computer with an updated antivirus and remain safe.
